Firelight provides grants and funding to grassroots organizations working to keep children safe in their communities, including within their homes and in schools. The foundation is seeking to fund a cohort of partners in Shinyanga Region, Tanzania and in Zimbabwe in the following districts: Kadoma, Kwekwe, Gokwe North, Gokwe South, Nkayi, Lupane, Binga, and Hwange that are working on child rights, child protection, or activities that help build children’s emotional health.
Firelight is calling for organizations to send letters of inquiry in order to be considered for funding. Letters should include the organization’s contact information, background and history of the organization, the focus of the organization’s potential proposal, and financial information. The deadline for receiving letters of inquiry is 29 August 2014. Organizations will be notified by October 2014 if Firelight is interested in receiving a full proposal.
