Australia needs new watchdog to tackle slavery, parliamentary inquiry says

Christopher Knaus and Ben Doherty - The Guardian

The Australian Parliament has published a final report of its Modern Slavery Inquiry, which provides "a detailed blueprint for the creation of a modern slavery act in Australia." The report includes a section on orphanage trafficking and highlights the testimony of several partners in Australia, including ReThink Orphanages, and around the world who explain the ways in which the orphanage industry exploits children and families and why orphanage trafficking must be included in the Modern Slavery Act. Included under the section on orphanage trafficking is orphanage tourism and donations from Australians.
