Family foster care is intended for the care of children and adolescents who are away from the family by judicial protective measure, emerged as an innovative reception strategy, providing individual and personalized care to children or adolescents who are victims of some form of violence.

The paper features case studies from Benin, Brazil, Kenya, Uganda and other countries and presents key findings from the review of emerging technological trends, typologies, and threats around the world, including findings on the use of technology in family tracing related to children separated from their families during emergencies.
