Introduction
This paper summarises findings from an initial scoping study, which seeks to review how child protection outcomes are captured when monitoring multi-purpose humanitarian cash programmes. The study intends to inform the development and piloting of new approaches to integrating child protection concerns into multi-purpose cash monitoring frameworks. It was conducted for the Alliance for Child Protection’s, Cash Transfer and Child Protection Task Force.

Refugee women and children face specific risks and their needs are, quite rightly, highlighted and addressed by the humanitarian community. Drawings and other playful sessions were used with the children to help them tell stories of their everyday lives without the negative impact a deep interview might have.
The report highlights…

This article from Reuters discusses the complicated issue of birth registration for Syrian refugee children and shines light on the growing number of “stateless” children as the Syrian refugee crisis escalates. "If you look at the number of births that have happened ... I think we can be talking about hundreds of thousands who are potentially not registered in the region as a whole," according to Daryl Grisgraber, senior advocate for the Middle East at Refugees International. Children who are stateless or unregistered are at risk of being denied basic human rights such as education and health…
