This report presents the findings of a mappings and assessments review of child protection systems in 14 countries including Cambodia. The principal purpose of the study was to consolidate existing information on the shared strengths, challenges and priorities for developing and strengthening child protection systems in the region that will better safeguard children from all forms of violence, abuse, neglect and exploitation.

The Division of Social Services under the Secretariat of Labour and Solidarity has developed the Policy and Procedures for Child Care Centres and Boarding Houses. This process was assisted by wide consultation with users and service providers including staff of Child Care Centres, Boarding Houses, Government, NGOs, UNICEF and the children themselves. The consultation was a combination of individual interviews, visits to institutions and workshops.
