In June 2020 CELCIS produced the first Lifelong Links Briefing, outlining the ongoing evaluation of Lifelong Links in Scotland. In it, we presented some of the initial topics that were emerging from the data we had received or collected. The aim was to help local sites and Family Rights Group to continue to develop their practice and improve the lives of children and young people in Scotland.
In this follow up Briefing, we highlight some of the new things we have been hearing, focusing on the impact that…
This report sets out the findings from the most comprehensive study of attitudes towards bringing up children from conception to 5 years ever undertaken in the United Kingdom. Thousands of parents and non-parents have participated to help shed light on how we approach the early years of life for children in the UK.
This report seeks to draw together the evidence collected across all the research strands to provide an overview of the public’s and parents’ perceptions of the early years in the UK today. To achieve this, the data collected via each research methodology was independently…

You may be worried about your child and desperately missing visiting them but you, your child, their carer, social workers, and other family members must follow government Coronavirus guidance on staying at home and social distancing.
Maintaining…

This study funded by Big Lottery and undertaken in partnership between the University of Bristol and Buttle UK, a grant-giving charity for vulnerable children, aims to fill the gaps in our understanding of how children experience living with kins, and in particular how children in informal kinship care view their situation.
The first phase of the study used limited micro-data from the UK Population Census of 2001 to estimate the extent of kinship care in the UK in 2011 and to describe the characteristics of kinship carers and children. The findings from the analysis of the census revealed…
