This UN brief examines the COVID-19 pandemic's threats to food security and nutrition of millions of people around the world and suggests three mutually reinforcing sets of priority actions to address the immediate, near- and medium-term needs to protect people during and beyond the crisis, and – ultimately – to reshape and build resilient food systems:
- First, mobilize to save lives and livelihoods, focusing attention where the risk is most acute.
- Second, strengthen social protection systems for nutrition.

ABSTRACT
Children in care (CiC) experience poorer health outcomes than their sameaged peers without an experience of care. Despite growing recognition of the importance of listening to the voices of children and young people (YP), to date, the voices of CiC are not well represented in research examining their health. This study aimed to explore the experiences and perceptions of health among YP who have previously lived in care. A co-design approach was used to inform the research methodology by engaging YP with a lived experience in cooperative discussions. Ten YP participated in one-on-…
This editorial from The Lancet Global Health discusses the effect of COVID-19 on food insecurity, particularly for women and children. "The Global Report on Food Crises estimates that 135 million people were food insecure in 2019, but more recent World Food Programme (WFP) projections indicate that, because of the economic effects of and supply chain disruptions associated with COVID-19, this number could double in 2020, to 265 million…

It provides specific recommendations…
While responding to the urgent and unprecedented COVID-19 pandemic, it is critical that measures are taken to protect and promote good nutrition. This should be done through an adequate integration of nutrition actions into COVID-19 response plans and the protection of existing nutrition programming, especially for the most vulnerable (including vulnerable children). The role of Scaling Up Nutrition (SUN) Government Focal Points and country multi-stakeholder platforms (MSPs) will be critical to minimise the direct and indirect effects of COVID-19 on malnutrition.

This Brief is meant to provide information specific to services and programmes for the management of child wasting in the context of COVID-19, and it contains information that is not already available elsewhere. This Brief does not cover wider mitigation and response measures available in other guidance. As a nutrition community, the authors will continue to develop their understanding on practical solutions to deliver programming in the context of COVID-19.
This two-page brief outlines the UNICEF-WFP partnership's two-pronged strategy to respond to the immediate and medium-term needs to prevent and treat child wasting during and after COVID-19.
This joint note aims to consolidate the current recommendations on Infant and Young Child Feeding in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic in Eastern, Central and Southern Africa.
