This report maps current practice in philanthropic support for child- and youth-led work at the community level and offers strategic advice to donors on how to strengthen their funding modalities to achieve greater impact. It was developed with youth co-researchers through literature review, key informant interviews, focus groups, and online surveys with funders, child- and youth-led community rooted groups, and non-funders.

In State Fiscal Year (SFY) 2014, child welfare agencies in the United States spent $12.8 billion in federal funds to protect and promote the well-being of children who are at risk of, or have been victims of, maltreatment.
