This report maps current practice in philanthropic support for child- and youth-led work at the community level and offers strategic advice to donors on how to strengthen their funding modalities to achieve greater impact. It was developed with youth co-researchers through literature review, key informant interviews, focus groups, and online surveys with funders, child- and youth-led community rooted groups, and non-funders.
COVID-19 triggered unprecedented disruption on a world-wide scale. Governments enforced far-ranging public health measures, including stay at home orders, curfews and travel restrictions. These measures have had direct and indirect impacts on the provision of residential care for children and have forced residential care institutions (RCIs) to confront the sustainability and effectiveness of institutional models of care.
