The Kingdom of Cambodia signed into law on 8 December 2015 the Sub-Decree on the Management of Residential Care. The Sub-Decree aims to "improve the quality and strengthen the effectiveness of residential care management and to protect the best interests of children." It provides that the Cambodian Ministry of Social Affairs, Veterans and Youth Rehabilitation shall be the controlling entity to oversee residential care centers and the new requirements placed upon them.
