Abstract
The Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse in Australia noted that child sexual exploitation (CSE) was a significant issue of concern for children and young people in residential care, as increasing rates of sexual abuse and exploitation are continually reported. Employing a systematic scoping methodology, this review examined the scope and breadth of literature focusing on children and young people living in residential care in Australia who have experienced sexual exploitation. Findings indicate that peer to peer sexual re-victimisation is a serious…
Academics, scholars, and practitioners have a tendency to use one term – typically “abuse” or “violence” – as the umbrella term for a full range of types of child maltreatment including neglect; exploitation; and physical, sexual, and psychological violence and abuse. This creates challenges for the identification of cases, the measurement of incidence rates, and the determination of appropriate protective mechanisms.
This report examines the main elements of child abuse, neglect, exploitation and violence (nature of the act; perpetrator relationship to the child…

All data points are citations from the secondary data matrix which have been compared and interpreted, but not triangulated and verified.

Abstract
After the fall of the Communist regime, the Romanian population has decreased approximately 15%, due to the high level of labour migration. The migration of Romanians was even more intensified later on, after Romania has joined the European Union. This decrease of population was due to an increased demand of the West-European population for domestic, construction and agricultural workers, corroborated with the entitlement of the new European citizens to free movement of workers within the territory of the European Union. As a direct consequence, a minimum of 82,464 children were…
The child protection sector lacks a robust evidence-base conveying what effective support during the recovery and reintegration process for children affected by child sexual exploitation (CSE) looks like. This report starts to collate evidence on what appears to be important to children who have experienced sexual exploitation. Recognizing the current gaps in knowledge, this report represents a first attempt to start ‘connecting the dots’ between primary data and existing literature to help states and service providers better respond to the needs of children affected by CSE. This report…
Abstract
Child trafficking is a significant social problem across the European Union (EU). A discourse has emerged of State services failing trafficked children, who are portrayed as especially vulnerable. Less attention is paid to the socio-political conditions within the EU that result in exclusion. Such exclusion adds to the situational vulnerability that many children on the move experience and it may lead to exploitation. This paper is based on a review of 20 multi-national European Commission funded projects about child trafficking. The projects addressed the child trafficking…
The Trafficking in Persons Report is an annual publication of the U.S. Department of State, providing a snapshot of human trafficking around the world with attention to key issues, trends, standards, and updates. The 2017 Report focuses on enhancing criminal accountability and addressing the challenges associated with prosecution efforts. Children living in residential care in several countries were reported to be particularly vulnerable to trafficking, with reports of children being trafficked into forced labor and criminality, child pornography, sexual exploitation and…

By employing the systematic review as the research methodology, the researchers explored previous research from doctoral dissertations, internet journals and explored the published research articles. This research paper is aimed at providing…

INTRODUCTION
This review is intended to provide Barnardo’s with an overview of what ‘direct work’ with young people entails in the context of CSE. Part one explores the nature, types and contexts of direct work and gives an overview of the range of risks and vulnerabilities that direct work typically addresses. Part two focuses on the journey of direct work with young people in greater detail and outlines six core elements of direct interventions:
1. Engagement and relationship building
2. Support and stability
3. Providing advocacy
4. Reducing risks and building resilience…
