The CPC Learning Network held its biennial meeting, Evolving Methods for an Expanding Field: Global Research with Children and Families in Adversity, on 21 and 22 June 2016, at Columbia University's Mailman School of Public Health in New York City. The meeting was also livestreamed. The meeting aimed at presenting innovative research on international child protection and family welfare and identifying key knowledge gaps and ways to collaborate to fill those gaps. “The Global Social Service Workforce Alliance hosted its 3rd Annual Symposium on June 2nd, 2016. The event was held at the Birdsall House Conference Center in Washington, DC and also via live webcast. Just over 300 participants from 25 countries across NGOs, government, academia, donors and others joined the discussion in the room or online about ways of strengthening the social workforce to better support vulnerable families and children. The symposium enabled the exchange of information between members of the Alliance and other experts across countries and regions.”

Udayan Care, a non-profit agency in India, organized a two-day international seminar on ‘Improving Standards of Care for Alternative Child and Youth Care: Systems, Policies and Practices’ on on 18-19 March 2016. On July 27–29, 2015, the Forum on Investing in Young Children Globally, in partnership with the Ethiopian Academy of Sciences, held a workshop in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, to examine topics related to supporting family and community investments in young children globally.
