Heaven's Family

Heaven’s Family was founded in 2002 by David and Becky Servant. Heaven’s Family actually began as a teaching ministry directed towards pastors and Christian leaders living in developing nations. Today, Heaven’s Family is increasingly invested in helping catalyze disciple-making movements among unreached people groups.

Heaven's Family partnered with Australian Christian Churches International (ACCI) Relief to deinstitutionalize the institutional-care homes that they historically financially supported. The organization transferred the program over to ACCI and are now a donor.

We asked this organization to tell us a little more about their learning and knowledge sharing practices. Here is what they said

What area of your practice are you most proud of and why?

Being part of getting over 100 children out of orphanages and back with their families is one of the best things we've been privileged to be a part of.

What area of your work has resulted in the most significant learning for your organization?

Speaking with Mick Pease of SFAC and then working very closely with a care-reform organization called Australian Christian Churches International Relief caused the greatest amount of learning for our organization.

What are the top 2 pieces of advice or wisdom you’d offer to others from this learning?

International work is always extremely difficult and complex. Believing it's simple is a terrible pitfall that our organization fell into.
