Holt International provides child-centered services around three main program areas: family strengthening, orphan and vulnerable children care, adoption services. Holt works to strengthen and preserve struggling families, whenever possible. Through nutritional, financial, health, education and counseling services, they provide the tools and resources families need to grow stable and self-reliant — addressing the root causes of child abandonment, and creating a safe, supportive environment for children to grow and thrive.

Holt began caring for Cambodian children and families in the 1970s, first in refugee camps in neighboring Thailand where thousands of Cambodians fled to escape civil war and the brutal authoritarian rule of the Khmer Rouge regime. Not until two decades later, however, did we begin developing programs in Cambodia. Shortly afterward, in 1994, Holt had to suspend programs in response to ongoing instability.

Home for Good

The Home for Good initiative was launched in early 2013 as a campaign run in partnership between Care for the Family, Thirtyone:eight and Evangelical Alliance, with the aim of making fostering and adoption a significant part of the life and ministry of the Church in the UK.

Home Free helps children at risk of growing up in orphanages, and those living in institutions to to grow up in loving families. They support children with school fees, medical care and other necessities, so that they can live and thrive at home. And, they work with local communities to protect children from harm, and to ensure every child can grow up in a loving family.

The HOME Project was set up by the Libra Group in response to the global refugee crisis. An international business controlling 30 subsidiaries across six continents, the Libra Group was founded on the core values of integrity, respect and trust - values which continue to drive the organization today wherever it finds itself in the world.

Hope and Homes for Children has worked in Ukraine since 1998.  Ukraine has one of the largest system of institutional care in Europe, with almost 100,000 children living in 663 orphanages. Hope and Homes' work began with the development of a number of family based alternatives to institutional care, followed by the creation of services for mothers and babies. In 2007 they began a pilot closure of an orphanage near Kiev, allowing them to demonstrate how, through the development of quality family support services and family based alternative care, institutions are unnecessary.
