Transforming Children's Care Global Collaborative Platform,

The webinar will explore participation in foster care with particular focus on individual decision making for children and young people. We will be hearing from people with lived experience of foster care in different contexts.

This is the first in the series of global webinars on ECD and climate change from the Early Childhood Regional Networks - AfECN, ANECD, ARNEC and ISSA and Global Early Childhood Network ECDAN. With speakers from across the globe including youth advocates, climate experts and ECD practitioners, the webinar will explore the global impact of climate change and environmental degradation on young children, share some experiences from Africa and Asia Pacific regions, and agree on key messaging for COP27 (Egypt 7-18 Nov 2022 – Conference of the Parties, global climate summit), for the ECD and climate change agenda to include the youngest children in decision making.

In 2021, UNICEF launched its latest approach to Child Protection Systems Strengthening (CPSS), together with benchmarks for measuring the CPSS work, and high impact CPSS interventions. The objective of this webinar is to present this CPSS approach, and reflect on how this approach, and especially the seven intermediate outcomes of CPSS are relevant to the care reform agenda. Colleagues from Rwanda will share how care reform has been used as a strategic entry point to strengthen national Child Protection Systems and help explore how strengthening Child Protection Systems helps accelerate work on care reform.
