To recognize Social Work month in March (with March 19 as the commemorative day), the Advancing Protection and Care for Children in Adversity (APCCA) team would like to highlight the critical role that the social services workforce plays in the protection and care of children and families in communities. To achieve a world in which all children thrive within protective, loving families, free from deprivation, violence, and family separation, we must have effective, well-resourced social service and child-protection systems. And, at the heart of those systems is a strong social service workforce.

The L&D Working Group at the Alliance for Child Protection in Humanitarian Action is pleased to invite applications to participate in a short training on the CPHA Competency Framework and its associated tools. 

This webinar examined care in the context of COVID-19, climate change, and conflict. Speakers explored how the pandemic has left a lasting legacy on the care system in Uganda and examined the impacts of climate change-related drought on children's care in Kenya. They also explored efforts to deliver effective care for children during conflict in Ethiopia.
